Bag Thickness Information
Plastic Bags are measured in mils or microns. Mils are increments of thousandths of an inch. 1 mil is 1/1,000 of an inch. A micron is the metric unit of measure and is 1 millionth of a meter. 1 mil is equal to 25.4 microns. Generally, mils are used when measuring thicker low density materials and microns are used when measuring thinner gauges such as hdpe t shirt style grocery bags.
