Art created in vector based programs are preferred. This includes programs such as Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress, and CorelDRAW. CONVERT FONTS TO OUTLINES OR CURVES. We can work from almost any art, but files such as jpg, tiff, png, bmp, gif, and others generally produce less than perfect results. Magnify these types of images and you will see imperfections that can might print onto the bags. We usually can re-set the type and do light clean-up on graphics. Please provide font names, if they are known, when submitting this type of art.
When measuring for art size (for each ink color), measure the widest and tallest dimensions and add 1½" to each dimension. To get the total square inches multiply the height by the length. For example:
- actual art = 10x10"
- add 1½" to each dimension
- or
- 11½x11½ = 133 square inches
- to find the total plate cost for 1 color 1 side print find the zinc cost of $104.90
- and add it to the plate cost of $55.60 = a total of $160.40
For any bag less than 12" wide 2 rubber plates are needed for each color and each side. When supplying your own plates we need natural rubber .112". Screen specs are to be no finer than 65 line at 20%. For double wall bags we will accept rubber plates made for single wall bags and print on the outside layer of the clear film. We also accept rubber plates that are reverse and will print on the inside of the clear film.
